There are lots of local community events this month in Tuolumne County including train rides, a Quilt Show and the annual fall fest.
STEAM CAB RIDE
Ride in the cab of a locomotive!
Cab riders will take an approximately 45 minute ride in the cab of either the Sierra No. 3, the Sierra No. 28 steam locomotive or a historic diesel locomotive (based on operating schedule and not guaranteed). Steam is typically offered on Saturdays and diesel on Sundays. Cab riders will receive a certificate at the end of their cab ride signed by the locomotive engineer and fireman. Cab rider will be allowed time to take a photo in front of the locomotive with the engine crew once back at the depot.
Walk-ins will be accepted as long as time permits and there is no advanced cab ride booking. Cancellations are eligible for refunds if made at least two weeks prior to scheduled cab ride. On the day of the scheduled cab ride, riders must arrive at least half an hour early to complete a brief safety training and sign release of liability.

Your 6-mile, 45-minute roundtrip train ride will take you past the water tower from Petticoat Junction and transport you from the backyards of Jamestown to the rugged hillsides of California’s Mother Lode country. After your ride, explore the historic grounds, have a picnic, and spend the day in the beauty of California’s Gold Country.

ANNUAL FALL FEST AT INDIGENY RESERVE
The annual Farms of Tuolumne County Pumpkin/Zucchini Weigh-in is on October 8.
Celebrate Indigeny Reserve’s 10th Anniversary at their annual Fall Festival the last four Saturdays of October.
